“Generosity brings happiness at every stage of its expression. We experience joy in forming the intention to be generous. We experience joy in the actual act of giving something. And we experience joy in remembering the fact that we have given.”
– The Buddha

Generosity or Dana, the practice of giving and receiving, is the heart and foundation of the Buddhist path. The Buddha taught generosity as a means for liberating our hearts, transforming clinging and encouraging, non-attachment. It is a practice that has traditionally guided retreat and dharma centers in our lineage, where teachers have relied on the generosity of others in offering their teachings. One of Chattanooga Insight’s deepest aspirations is to continue to introduce and bring this practice of Dana into our community, to share the Buddha’s teachings with all who are interested, regardless of their ability to pay.

Chattanooga Insight continues to offer teachings and hold space because of your generosity. Our weekly meetings rely on your Dana to support the teachers, the group, as well as to contribute toward the space itself provided by the Center for Mindful Living. From time to time, donation-based events and activities, such as daylong retreats, will be offered that will at times completely rely on your giving and at times will rely on donations to supplement overhead costs to support the teachers.

Thank you, we appreciate your generosity. Your donations sustain our group and allow us to continue to share this practice and these priceless teachings.
