Mentoring with Janka
$40.00
What is mentoring or practice inquiry?
The mentoring is for people who are actively practicing meditation, and who would like to reflect with a teacher about their practice. Discussions may focus on specific questions about one’s meditation practice itself, concerns about the integration of practice into one’s daily life, or on an exploration of the truth as it is experienced through direct insight from meditation.
The mentoring meetings usually take place once or twice a month and they are usually scheduled for an hour. They take place at my home studio, by phone or Zoom. Please respect these meetings (including phone and Zoom meetings) as you would any other appointment – be on time and give at least 24 hours notification for a cancellation.
What is the fee?
There is no set charge for these meetings, in turn; you make voluntary offerings (Dana). Dana is a practice of expressing gratitude through generosity. Dana or generosity, the practice of giving and receiving, is the heart and foundation of the Buddhist path. The Buddha taught generosity as a means of liberating our hearts, transforming clinging and encouraging non-attachment. It is a practice that has traditionally guided retreat and dharma centers in my lineage, where teachers have relied on the generosity of others in offering their teachings. One of my deepest aspirations is to continue to introduce and bring the practice of Dana into our community and to share the Buddha’s teachings with all who are interested, regardless of their ability to pay.
You can offer dana by mailing check to Janka Livoncova 711 Signal Mountain Road # 195, Chattanooga TN 37405, using Venmo @ Janka-Livoncova, PayPal to janka.livoncova@gmail.com or via credit card. Thank you for your generous support.
